YES! YOU CAN JOIN THE CENTER
If you are 60 and older, there are no requirements to participate in the activities and nutrition program at Northwest Dane Senior Services. You do not have to live in Black Earth to join us. And there is not a membership fee. There are residency requirements for certain services including case management, transportation, mobile meals and supportive home chore. From time to time it becomes necessary to change our schedule, menu or an activity. There are also times that we simply “make a mistake”. Considering the number of events we plan, rides we schedule, people we try to accommodate, it is actually a small number. But, when it directly affects YOU, anyone of “you”, it is a big deal, we know, and we apologize. All we ask is that you realize our limitations and accept our apology. After all, there are also occasions when an activity has to be canceled because YOU, for whatever reason, have a change in plans. Let’s extend one another the courtesy of allowing for error and failings and support one another’s best efforts.

WEATHER UPDATE, Be Winter-Wise and Prepared!
In the event of inclement weather we will cancel all NWDSS programs including the nutrition site and mobile meals when Wisconsin Heights School District closes for weather. Remember to keep some extra food items on the shelves during these winter months. Newsletters are mailed through “Bulk Mail” at a cost reduction from regular mail. The Black Earth Post Office has informed us that choosing this process, we not only get a reduced rate, but delivery will take longer to get to your mail box. The standard time of delivery is 3-5 days, however, as some of us know, it has been taking longer. We are doing our part to get the newsletters out and to you before the first of the following month. We cannot be responsible for the time it takes once we deliver them to the post office. Please be patient and we apologize for the delay.
